Third year in a row in Kansas with my brother. We missed out on the early season muzzleloader hunt, but went up for the rifle season with our muzzleloaders. It's taken time, but we are finally figuring out how to hunt these deer. This buck is the kind of buck I've dreamed about ever since we started applying. Public land, diy.

Super! I bet as warm as it has been you almost thougt about going to one shirt layer.

Congrats on a great buck! I look forward to getting back to Kansas for another deer hunt, good times for sure.

Thanks guys! It was warm to start the week, but a decent cold front came in for the opener. It had been colder the last couple of years, but it cooled off enough to get the deer moving - when the wind wasn't blowing.

There were quite a few hunters out, but not many seem to want to go in far enough to have to pack them out on their back....
