Well, We leave for New Mexico friday morning around 4:00am headed to Ruidoso, NM with my son Travo and my hunting buddy Wes in our quest for a Bear. After our scouting trip in June I asked Travo where he was gonna get, he told me "Right next to you!". We will be taking our horses and mule, so we can get in some good riding and Hunting. Hope to post up some pictures next week! John:D

My best advice to ya my friend (and you know this to be true) is...lead your mount...don't ride it.;):D

Good hunting amigo.

Great hunt! No Bear.....but the time I spent with my son riding the mountains was priceless. I only carried a rifle once the entire time. I was there for Travo and we came close as we had a bear tearing up a log down from us, but it never worked its' way to us. Travo and I along with Wes did see a Mexican Wolf that the state is transplanting! It came as close as 30 yards and posed on a boulder while Travo and I looked through our binoculars at it. It left and then the Elk started moving through. We rode for 30 + miles in the Moutain trails, 20 of it was on Tessie, my new Mule, who did a great job and I had people wanting to buy her! No Deal! Wednesday we rode to the top of Argentina Peak and found a Massive Meadow where on one side you could seel forever and that Look on Travo's face was one of wonderment, that really made the trip for us. It by all means a great time and Travo is already talking about next time. When they do that you know the trip was a success. John

Sounds like a really enjoyable hunt.
I'm sure none of us would be offended by pictures....;)
