In our primary the republican nominee was Zach Lahn. According to his bio he is currently a business owner and spends time in Kansas. He was high up in the Americans for prosperity- Montana. Not knowing much about the gentleman, but having heard of Americans for prosperity from hunttalk and knowing of all the good Montana folk here, I figured this was a good spot to learn a thing or two. Being a firm believer in history repeating itself does anyone have an idea what we can expect from this candidate?

Anything connected to Americans for prosperity in MT is prosperity = money. Resources = commodities. Nothing is worth anything until you sell it and folks who make the most money deserve the most access to resources.

Lahn is pretty well unknown in Iowa right now. It will be interesting to see what they dig up. The dems have a guy from my area, who is currently the state auditor. His moto is “not bluer, not redder, just truer”He was on the meateater podcast a few weeks ago for shooting a 209” whitetail in the Des Moines urban deer hunt. He carries an 870 to pheasant hunt.

If you are on the same page as him on social issues and philosophy of governance then he’s probably going to have more in common with you as a hunter than a candidate linked to Americans for Prosperity.

That’s coming from a person whose ballots are usually more red than blue.

Mostly red here too, but it’s had some blue the last couple of cycles.

From what I’ve seen while he was State Auditor Rob Sand doesn’t care who he audits, he’s went after both sides. I hope it continues. He is backed by his wealthy in laws, who have historically backed some powerful red candidates.

Zach Lahn did an interview with Shaun Ryan which in itself is creepy and concerning. I didn’t watch it because for some reason, like Steve Rinella, Shaun Ryan’s voice makes me want to start destroying perfectly good dry wall.

The other little fella Rob Sand looks like he’s been living in his parents basement for most of his adult life and probably has a hidden stack of porn that reaches the ceiling somewhere down there.

I’m traditionally pretty red, but I have to question the money and motive behind any candidate that puts them on the Shaun Ryan podcast a month before the primaries?

I’ll look into the little auditor fella more and see if he too makes me squeamish.

At this point in my life and after the last 10 years nationally, I’m having a hard time having any faith or trust with anyone who puts their name on a ballot.
