As was I having you - I actually had 27 points and first applied in 1997 - 28 years so I’m hoping it’s a great one - should be! Idaho does it right with no points. Congrats on the permit.

I am also waiting on my refund. It almost caused a marital issue when I saw my balance and started to ask my wife what the hell, but then I realized it was my tag application and the refund hadn't arrived within the same period!

I miss the old days when I could just mail a check with my application to an IDF&G office and skip the “convenience” fee associated with use of a credit card.

I'm lucky. I live in Utah but was able to apply at Cabela's in-person and avoid the card fee because they're an Idaho license vendor. I'm not sure how common that is, but it might be worth an investigation depending on where you live.
