Went out yesterday with a good friend.... we managed about 20 or 25 between the two of us, caught 3 over 15" which was crazy.... let one of them go, hopefully I can catch it in the late March and be a state record....:D, all in all it was fun, buddy caught a nice fat 23" Rainbow also,

Been a long time since I've had any, but I used to really like to eat perch. Not much meat on the smaller ones but it sure was good.

Wow..... Hey do those 15"ers get kind of bad tasting like a big walleye will?

I like going for the bluegills and I noticed the big 10" gills start to get muddy tasting. I have had a lot of 12" perch and those were good but never got into any of the size your getting around here. Do you use tip ups for those monsters?

My PR was 14 1/4" from Siltcoos Lake when I was a kid.

Caught some bluegills and perch one day. Took them home and fried 'em up, and decided there was no need to eat another bluegill. Love to catch 'em, but after perch nothing quite measures up on the table.

Good day on the water..I mean ice!
Perch or 'Redfin' as we call them are a pest species
over here. We catch a lot of them and are good eating
for a freshwater specie.
3-4lb is a nice perch for us.
