“I don’t want you hunting this outfit.”

I bet when someone shoots one in self defense things will change.
Once again like whack-a-mole with the flagrant abuses of our public lands. I think, as a group, we need advocacy organizations (so support one or more) to take up these fights one by one. Leaving cattle on grazing leases after deadlines are up should be a pretty open and shut civil case, easy to document. It is their obligation and responsibility to get them off, least they can do for the privilege of grazing below cost.

Ran in to a couple guys early this morning that were convinced there was an easement at a corner. I know the area and the laws. I said go ahead. Cameras everywhere you will have ranch company. mtmuley

since you come off as an on the spot badass, why didn't you just handle the situation right then and there vs. "cameras everywhere - ranch thugs coming soon" ???

Cliven Bundy enters the chat…
I get the rugged individualism and all but I am continually surprised that western states law enforcement and/or the fed govt do seem so much weaker on some issues there than they do east of the Mississippi. Wide open spaces must dilute the ability to project power, and some lone individuals seem so much better at confounding the system whether its grazing, posting public, blocking roads, etc. The lawless west is definitely still kickin with these wannabe sovereign citizens. Just surprised the overwhelming majority of the normal western public land users accept it.

-Those same sovereigns wouldn't hesitate to use the law or their lawyers against poor John Q public though if you dare cross their airspace!

Not everyone puts up with their bullshit.

Understood. I painted with too broad a brush there and know its a hard fight that some take on to the benefit of all. But I guess it would be really entertaining though to see a bit more grass roots turnout, some organized hikes through some these "outfits." It's so easy to get like 100 birdwatchers to chase some vagrant lost sparrow on a random Tuesday on either US coast. It would be cool to organize a similar enthusiasm for some western corner crossing block parties or camping get-togethers until the over entitled few settle down about what amounts to a couple hunters now and then. Any ranch, or ranch staff that put their "outfit" on the map, should expect some of these outings.
