Hello, My friend and I are heading to Montana for an Archery elk hunt here in the next few weeks. We had a primary plan established with a handful of backup plans in place. To our surprise, we found out our first spot was on fire. We've been watching it closely ever since and now it looks like the area will be open to at least attempt to hunt. My main question is, is how much does a active/very recent fire distribute and affect elk in the area? Would it be advised to stay away from that area in general or at least give it a shot?
