    Hey, saw that you and a buddy hunted first archery in 51 a year or so back. I'm heading up there in a week. Got any tips to share?

    Hey! Hope this isn't too late to get to you, but yes. We tried some spots around the unit, so don't be afraid to spend 4 hours traveling to a new area; Part way through the week we moved from one side completely to the other. i noticed on a comment you mentioned the Canjilon lakes area. We did not go on the Canjilon lakes side, but went to the next road east and ran forest service road 274

    When we went the first week of sept, they weren't really bugling, and were still in the seclusion bedroom areas. If you see a spot with lots of rubs, there could be one near by still if they are not bugling. Raking trees really brought them in, so dont be afraid to do some blind calling setups if you smell elk.
