How does the PM work in this forum

Forgive me for my ignorance, but how does one PM another member or receive a PM discretely from a member without showing ones email address or phone number in the forum? Thank you.

I too am struggling with the PM process. I attempted some PM's but it appears I created Profile Posts instead, whatever they are. When I click on a members name, I cannot find the "start a conversation" button. Please provide additional guidance. Thanks.

the upper right hand corner, next to your name, should be a little mail envelope icon. Click on that and it will drop down the "start a conversation" link as well. Then you just have to add the username you want to PM w/ the @ prefix.

I think you need a certain number of posts before PMs are allowed.

I’ve had problems with that too. Try without the @. Seems that is the one place the @ doesn’t work.

Funny I PM another member a couple months ago and it worked fine, just can't remember how I did it.

There were some modification made in attempts to slow down bots and phishing and plain old fraud from new "members". This happened a short time ago, perhaps in between PM attempts on your part.
