Fuggin HSUS and our other friends have a referendum to stop bear hunting.

According to what I can read, they are not outlawing or trying to outlaw bear hunting. They want to end using traps, hounds and bait. They would have to hunt bears the same way people in Montana have to. The Maine Fish and Game are against having a new regualation on how to bear hunt.

Guessing that Maine is a lot like northern Wi,.....outlawing the use of bait and/or hounds......would more than likely effectively put an end to the harvest goals that need to be reached. Not impossible to harvest a bear without hounds/bait...but pretty difficult unless you have a damage control permit. Comparing Maine to Montana is like apples to oranges.

Yep. Plus, the Commission, Managers & Hunters should make the decision, not HSUS or politicians. I can't see LePage signing it, even as nutso as he is.

Not a slam neccessarily but this is provincialism at it's best...
