Has anybody broken a truck window when mounting a spotting scope on it?

Having a truck window spotting scope mount would be a huge convenience for me, but I feel like with my ADHD, I'd lean on my scope too much, or not be gentle enough when panning and the leverage would easily break the window.

Can someone tell me if these concerns are valid, or am I making a big deal out of something that isn't really likely?

Make sure there is nothing metal touching the glass on the window mount...never done it but know guys that have. Takes just a small piece of metal touching the glass to shatter it.

Long time ago my buddy shtot (using his window as a rest for his 22-250) at a woodchuck out across my granddads field and he ended up with a lapful of glass.

Funny part was about a week later he was leaning across the bedside shooting at another one and clipped his tailgate and that bullet opened that tailgate up like a can opener.....lol

No, but because of the stupid auto switch function i put a nice deep dent in the material on the top of my door panel. I went to lower the window a little and it slammed the corner of the window mount into the panel when auto open activated. I wish there was a way to turn it off. I have to try and remember to take that mount to the belt sander and round the corners off in case the mount is not on level on the window.

I’m in the same boat as caseknife and schmalts where I’ve been driven nuts by the auto windows
