You can shoot the deer with 8 pointed antlers 15" wide but not the deer with 8 pointed antlers that are 14" wide. Pass.

You can shoot some of the bears that are brown. You cannot shoot others of the bears that are brown. Pass.

I realize it's not the same thing, but it's the same in terms of being worth anyone's time or risk.

After shooting the bear and identifying it as a grizzly, the hunter contacted Idaho Fish and Game and is cooperating with the ongoing investigation.

Same drainage, same exact spot, 1 year and 20 days later. I was hiking through the area yesterday and she was out feeding on berries with her cub. Not saying with 100% certainty it’s the same bear but am pretty sure it is.

I’m just curious what he thinks this bear is.

I’m not one to get my feelers hurt if people don’t agree with me on the internet. Just remember he was willing to provide a confident answer.

I would not pull the trigger on this one. Frontal view seems to show facial dish. Hump is pronounced and ears seem griz.
Dilemma is close proximity to look at claws and confirm features vs risky approach to bear, thus no shot for me.

I think this set of photos is trickier than the first. Same bear or not I have no clue but I felt confident the other was black bear, this one I’m a little less confident in saying it is but I still think it is. Lol still photos can be hard to judge.

If you decided this one was a black bear and shot it you would have a very bad day when you took it to FWP to get checked.
