I know most of you are from the west but I thoght I'd enlighten you to the storm damage here in the east. All the schoos have been closed most of the week due to no power. My 75 yr old parents have been trapped in their hom all week and stil are today. They had about 15 huge trees come down in their yard which me and my helpers went and took care of for them.we had to walk the last 3/4 mile to get to the house due to trees down on the road.We can't help open the road because the power company won't let us touch them
Now to the greed part.I'm doing a basement job in a very hard hit developement.Almost all the homes have missing shingles or half their roof.Guys have been going around there and charging $600 to fix the small shingle jobs to these people.I did 2 of them yesterday for my customers neighbors and they took 15-20 minutes each to fix.Makes me sick to my stomach thats theres people out there doing this, and I hope carma catches up with them.I'll be spending the rest of the weekend fixing as many as I can for $100 and putting these scum out of business.I plan to get at least 20 new customers this way today alone. So I'm still going to have a great profit and make things very affordable for these people
gas lines are totally crazy out here too. Most times,I'm waiting 1/2 hr at least to get gas in the hard hit places.Media isn't covering all this because of the election.Glad Obama is campaigning instead of doing more to help these people.I'm not even close to where the real devastation is.NY city mayor just cancelled the marathon. What a moron to even think it was a good idea to run it this year;should have been cancelled Monday. Can't wait to cast my vote vote this week to fire the pres. The guy is totally unqualified to run this great country.I see unemployment is still basically the same and would be over 10% by Bush's standards, but the media doesn't run numbers the same

Glad to here some decent folks back east plenty of scum bags all over willing to profit over others misfortune. Being and raised in the south and with the number of storms. Both hurricane and tornados, we see this happens all the time.
God bless and you will surely be rewarded by your good deeds
Be safe. Know it is a lot of hard work ahead to recover from such damage.

Storm chasers.............

I cant stand them. They sure make it hard on those of us who carry insurance, pull permits and pay a living wage to american citizens.

Selective enforcement enables these scum spook.

So sorry to hear all of this. They ridiculed Pres Bush for all he did (or what they think he didn't do) during Katrina, but all Obama did was give a couple hugs and a speech. I don't see the federal machine fixing anything....seems like it's all on the states and cities to help themselves.

If the media weren't in Obama's pocket, there'd be more uproar over this than Katrina ever generated.

Keep up the good work. Thanks for being a good, kind, and helpful citizen.
Matt

good on you mixed bag........no question it will pay off for you to do the right thing there! Like HS said, what goes around, comes around.

Karma...

If Karma works like it should, Scott should be in line for a monster caribou when we chase them in Alaska next September!

Good on you, Scott, for helping people out in a tough time. Hope your parents and your family are doing as well as can be.

Michael

Hey where are you and your parents from...Im from Long Island about a mile from the ocean in a town named Shirley and let me tell you about the distruction we are facing here. It is really bad . A million people lost power Monday and there are still 350,000 still without it. The streets around here are filled with home heating oil from tanks that overturned in peoples basements and flowed into the streest. Water was 5 feet in peoples living rooms, whole houses were lifted off the foundations and washed away, one of the boys in my cub scout den parents home was washed away, boats are in the middle of streets, to say the least its really bad. Gas lines are a mile long in most places if you can even get gas. There are plenty of scum gouging people. I have been cutting trees for a week and charging people next to nothing. People have told me they have paid upwards of a $1000. It makes me sick. I grew up in NYC and now reside on LI and this mayor is an idiot to try to run the marathon and our president is a bigger@#$%$&*@#$. All I can say is please keep the people in Long Island ,NY, and NJ in your prayers. We have a reputation that is not well received in a lot of places and sometimes its rightfully deserved but there are a lot of great people who live here and right now they need your prayers......
