Looks like I won't get to suck your guys tax dollars for unemployment! I start at 6am on Monday. It's just a 2-3 week gig with the BLM, that hopefully gets me into the next fiscal year when I can start with them on a longer term basis. I was just starting to like this not working thing!

THanks for the well wishes. Should be interesting as I'll be helping with some surveying in country I've yet to explore much.

It's fun. It involves beautiful country, cutting trees and brush down, lots of hiking, and lots of hours. I've worked 133.5 in the last two weeks, so the paycheck should be nice. All in all I'm enjoying the heck out of it. Also found out there will be two new Range Management Specialist positions opening in the Salt Lake Field Office!!! Wonder who's gonna apply for that??

Not too much trouble with CHEATgrass there, but there is in the other 3.2 million acres managed by the office!

Here's some views of where I've been the last two weeks. The aspens really turned gold in the last week.

I've heard tons of bugling elk, but only caught a glimpse of two, one a smallish 6 point. They seem to stick to the timber as it's a general season spike tag with LOTS of people hunting it.

That would be Stawberry Reservoir just south of Heber City, UT. Been seeing lots of people fishing for Bonneville Cutthroat, Rainbows, and Kokanee.

Tyler that looks like an excellent bass lake.

give me some details, smallies larger mouth? do they exist. how far from salt lake is that place?

The world down there looks like it is gearing up for a long winters nap, we have been getting the same thing up here..
Way to go on the job, hope you get the other one, it will be a little commute if you get that one though won't it!!!

Del, only two types of 'gay bass' and Kokanee Salmon and ever 'gayer bass'. This lake is at well over 7000ft.

Heck, SLC is only 35min. away without the traffic and 1.15hrs with!!!
