Costs us just over $300 a year in propane for our house

This last year wasnt too bad for us. The warm weather helped. I think i just paid $400 ish to top off the tank.

Is that your only heat source brockel? Most people i know even with newer homes burn at least 2 tanks in the winter. Our house is 60 some years old

Do they have a leak somewhere? My home is about 2400 sq ft and we usually use about 300 to 400 gallons a year.

Back to the OG thread. Prices have definitely affected my drive 2 hours away and hunt for a day trips. On a typical month I have been paying about $400 on fuel. The F-150 sits in the driveway for the most part and we put all our miles on the Rav4. I have thought about taking the Rav on trips but the last trip I took it on was goose hunting and I trashed my wheel well liners and some wiring behind them.

I will still take my 2 week long trips in August. Fortunately the first trip should just be a 90 minute drive to the trail head. The second trip will be a rough one. I swear every November I drive from one side of Montana to the other side.

Fuel prices are really only a drop in the bucket of all costs going up....

I’ll throw a bull elk in the back of my daughter‘s Buick lacrosse before I adjust my hunting plans due to fuel costs.

I do drive more for trapping than I do for hunting, and with three kids doing three sports, I drive a ton anyway, and the fuel cost increases are certainly noticeable.

Besides the kids running around yep it is. I just added a 12x24 off the front of the house I may put a pellet stove in though. Already own the pellet stove so don’t have that cost. Just not sure I want to deal with the cleaning of stove pipes for how little propane we use

No and tbh most other homes I've lived in have burned relatively the same here. Give or take. How old is your house?

1000 gallon propane tank.
We put 550 gallons in every two years.
2660 sq.ft.
Its all about the insulation.

Thats my point. They didn't isulate like that in the 60's

Through random happenings I had to upgrade my tundra to a 2500 HD gasser before my two WY, NM, & OK trip.

Not complaining though. Feeling blessed that I can afford these experiences and I’ll keep going until I’m dead or broke.

But I’m too high strung to be broke so it’ll be the other….

About to take a 350 mile one way trip for a doe antelope. Otherwise all my hunts are day hunts within an hour or two drive. Fuel prices aren't going to affect my hunting.

Mine was built in 98. I do need to get better windows and replace some weather stripping. Speaking of price anybody replaced windows lately?

I have not done an in depth quote but from what i have been told im looking at about 20k. I have an ton of south facing windows. It's great in the winter because it warms up the house but the summer can get brutal.

I traded my 08 ram for pretty much the exact truck, but a 25. Performance wise there's zero comparison, this new one is crazy. The 25 has better fuel efficiency too, however, just order the filters and oil for its change. I'm not sure how long I'll be a diesel owner after this go round and I don't know if it's because it's new, but it drinks def. Hold onto that 5.9!
