That's a great question, I'm glad I'm not a boomer but I would think almost anything would beat folgers. That stuff is brutal.

One day into a four day drive to northern BC, 2400 miles one way. Yeah, higher gas prices suck but in the grand scheme of things, barely a nit. Retirement is great!

I’m still incredibly POed that my favorite coffee at Costco (Hunter Bay) went from $15/2 lb bag to $26 with the tariffs and is now all the way back down to $24.. that is a non-negotiable though.

I've never understood the need to drink coffee.

At the cost of just tires I’m surprised more people aren’t running little cars

Our 2011 Outback has 252,000 miles and is still getting 26-28 mpg.

I’m taking it out this weekend.

I think it’s the if you aren’t driving a truck you aren’t a man mindset. Never understood it. Even when gas was $2/gallon.

800 miles round trip to get to my Idaho elk unit this year with my Tundra. Possibly two trips in Oct depending on how the first week goes. I would expect $300-$400 of gas for a week. Fortunate to spend small amount on commuting with <8 miles round trip a day for wife and I both.

Don't see gas prices changing plans at all.

Looking at plane tickets to fly to MSP for Thanksgiving to visit family and driving is looking cheaper. That would be with the Honda CRV hybrid.

Oldest is in every sport and I don’t miss any games no matter the distance. When she’s not doing that she shows animals all over all year long. My hunting fuel bill is a drop in the bucket

Figured our highway gas spend budget up last night. We will spend ~$2,350 on fuel this season hunting the west. The most we have ever spent.

Still less than the price of plane tickets for three and a rental truck. Also significantly less than the cost of just 1 drop camp elk hunt for 1 person. Craziness. Lol.

Cam you pull much with an outback? Serious question? Ive looked at alternatives to a pickup a few times. Most suvs dont get much better mileage and cost relatively the same from what I've seen or at least not enough to make the difference.

I’ve never towed with it.

I’ve seen people pulling small utility trailers and those smaller lightweight teardrop style campers with them.

I did the math on similar sized suvs vs full size pickup. When I bought my last pickup. Fuel savings came up to around $60 month iirc at 200k miles over 10 years. Not counting tires and maintenance. The vehichles themselves were pretty similarly priced. Not sure on insurance costs. So maybe $80 month total savings? Definitely worth it for some. All depends how much youre gonna use the truck for the bed and towing I guess?

I think new tires for my 1 ton was around 3k the brakes where like 1300. The truck itself only needs about 100 miles a month put on it now for the most part since I drive the car everywhere. If I didn’t haul water I wouldn’t have it anymore. My car was like 50 bucks to fill up last weekend and it’ll go about 3 weeks in my daily life on that tank. Also it’s just much more pleasant to drive especially when I drive big ass equipment and trucks all day

I'm with Hank. If we get a snow I just walk out the door and look for a rabbit. Squirrels are varmints and become fox food. Door is only open enough to get the barrel out.

3K for tires..... WTF tires are you getting? The last 4 tires I put on my 7.3L cost me $700 for 10ply....

Yah that adds up fast. Your still paying insurance on the truck though too. Im not saying there's a right answer to the situation I go back and forth on it all the time.

Trucka drink a lot less fuel when they aren't chad'd with 13 inch wide 35" tires.
