Gas/Fuel Price and hunting plans

Doesn't change anything for me, but we have 4 guys splitting fuel costs for a trip to Wyoming for one elk in a few weeks.

Congrats on your retirement. With that, you know I'm just wee GS employee with maybe one step increase, zero cola for the foreseeable future. Folgers it is!

The trips are not concurrent, so I could be open to different coffee options. But I gotta ask, what do boomers drink for coffee that beats Folgers?

That's a great question, I'm glad I'm not a boomer but I would think almost anything would beat folgers. That stuff is brutal.

Didn't think you were quite a boomer, I'm about at the end of that generation. Anything is a better than Folgers, but that is what I drink every morning because my wife buys it

One day into a four day drive to northern BC, 2400 miles one way. Yeah, higher gas prices suck but in the grand scheme of things, barely a nit. Retirement is great!

I’m still incredibly POed that my favorite coffee at Costco (Hunter Bay) went from $15/2 lb bag to $26 with the tariffs and is now all the way back down to $24.. that is a non-negotiable though.

I've never understood the need to drink coffee.

At the cost of just tires I’m surprised more people aren’t running little cars

Our 2011 Outback has 252,000 miles and is still getting 26-28 mpg.

I’m taking it out this weekend.

I think it’s the if you aren’t driving a truck you aren’t a man mindset. Never understood it. Even when gas was $2/gallon.

800 miles round trip to get to my Idaho elk unit this year with my Tundra. Possibly two trips in Oct depending on how the first week goes. I would expect $300-$400 of gas for a week. Fortunate to spend small amount on commuting with <8 miles round trip a day for wife and I both.

Don't see gas prices changing plans at all.

Looking at plane tickets to fly to MSP for Thanksgiving to visit family and driving is looking cheaper. That would be with the Honda CRV hybrid.

Oldest is in every sport and I don’t miss any games no matter the distance. When she’s not doing that she shows animals all over all year long. My hunting fuel bill is a drop in the bucket
