Does anyone familiar with this group know who is giving the presentation?

A Night for Wildlife

On Thursday, March 8th, in the Community Room at the Bozeman Public Library the Gallatin Wildlife Association is inviting everyone who is interested in wildlife to attend a showing of Opportunity for All. This presentation explains the North American Model (NAM) of wildlife conservation. The history of the NAM goes back 150 years when groups of hunters and anglers saw that wildlife were under siege. There were no laws to protect against indiscriminate harvesting, or commercial killing of wildlife. These groups worked to pass protective wildlife laws and to insure that America’s wildlife populations would endure, for all Americans. These groups recognized the importance of quality habitat for all wildlife, not just huntable species.

GWA is sponsoring this showing in an effort to better understand our rich wildlife heritage and protect for perpetuity wildlife species that need public activism to insure that wildlife needs are met.

It is important for all citizens to understand why wildlife advocates were necessary, what has been done, what laws have been enacted, and what still needs to be done for wildlife. It is up to all citizens to protect our rich wildlife heritage.

Please join us on March 8th to learn about our association, wildlife issues we advocate for, and, of course, we want to hear from you. What are your concerns about wildlife?

It will be interesting and fun…food…door prizes…and best of all information. The doors will open at 6:30, and the presentation will begin at 7:00.

here's a revolutionary idea:

as a concerned sportsman yourself, attend the meeting and give us a report........

just an idea.

I believe he was just asking an innocent question incase anybody knew...which I'd be curious to know as well.

Onpoint - Here's a revolutionary idea:

Quit pissing on everyone who might be helpful to the cause. As a concerned sportsman, understand that you might have some allies and being a smart ass to them does no good for the cause of concerned sportsmen.

I appreciate what you do, Onpoint, but the way you interact with people on this forum is hardly conducive to builing a larger and stronger coaltion. Especially among younger guys or guys new to these issues and the process by which progress can be made. They don't have the familiarity that comes with 20+ years of being inolved in the process. They don't know how the agency process works. They don't have the history of how it has come to this state of affairs.

But, they are trying to learn; wanting to help; and willing to step up when wanted and asked. Comments such as you provided herein sure are not incentive for them to ask any further questions or even follow their interest in the cause.

As far as Dunc's question, GWA is the Gallatin Valley affiliate of MWF. Some of their guys hang out on this site. They are avid hunters and anglers "concerned sportsmen," and invovled in the politics of hunting/fishing in Montana.

Cabin, you'll quickly learn to ignore Onpoint, especially during the legislative session. He's like your delusional grandfather who sits in the corner rambling on and on. At first he pisses you off with the crap he says. Then you realize he's old and can't help it, so you feel bad for him. Finally, you just start ignoring him until you forget he's even there.

Nailed it.:D

That's funny!
He probably let his dog near his cheerios again this morning.

thin skin for boys who drive trucks and shoot guns.......

It's been weeks since anyone's killed anything.

GWA is a good group of dedicated hunters and anglers. They're very active in sheep issues in SW MT, as well as one of the leading groups on bison issues surrounding the park. They always come prepared to commission and legislative meetings.

When I read mdunc's question I thought he was sort of hinting that he was the speaker!
