A few months back a new Waylon album was released from previously unknown recordings that had been discovered , so this is literally one from the vault . Waylon Jennings singing the classic Fleetwood Mac song Songbird. What a special gift to Waylon fans

The songwriter and singer were not fluent in English, so she sang the lyric sheet exactly as written, “godness on a mountain top”. Later covers by other bands changed it to “goddess”

This Scottish rock band was formed in 1981 and this song was released in May 1983. In the US, it peaked at No. 3 on the Top Rock Tracks chart and No. 17 on the Billboard Hot 100. Their lead singer/guitarist passed away on this day in 2001.
