Forum improvement

Think if we all had done a little better job remembering this is @Big Fin house and took our shoes off before coming in we would probably still have it.

Good point. Not to mention his business, which I assume benefits from increased post count more than likes (could be wrong).

Doesn’t matter folks, there are far better ways to infer respect and/or confirmation bias with keystrokes.

Happy Monday

In an effort to improve your time here on HT you will notice the like/dislike & emoji button is gone.

This will help optimize engagement using written posts and will reduce non-verbal confirmation biases.

Please enjoy your stay and have a great day!
If there was an emoji available, I would choose a very very sad face.

Pruning out some of the cancers would have likely been more effective at improving the forum. If someone is butt hurt because someone got a lot of likes, they need thicker skin.

yeah, i feel like a few people didn't like getting into an argument and then everyone on the forum liking the other persons points. here we are.

Call me paranoid , but I feel this is directed at me , somewhat .
OK , I'll stop posting funny shit .

It seems silly to me , we can't ask for help , and if we do we can't mention units . And if we do ask for help we get the same reply , do your homework . So we are just going to post about random scenarios? Local politics affecting hunting , that I can't vote on or have any impact ?
IMO , this will just lead to more bickering and more work for the mods.
I've seen this on other sites , it never improves the site , IMO .

It's your world @Big Fin and things like this are a matter of perspective so I'm sure I'm missing something . Maybe you are trying to weed out people like me , and thats ok , with me anyway .

I understand the reasoning behind it, but as someone who rarely posts I'm not a big fan of the change. I spend way more time lurking than posting, but I still like letting people know that I appreciate their posts. I might like 100 posts for each post I actually make, and in many cases I probably won't go through the effort to write out a full reply to a bunch of posts that I would have liked/interacted with. Not like that's the end of the world or anything, but it is nice to show that I am interested in what is being posted.

When they took away the "GIF's" at work on teams, people went ape$hit. I've never seen adults get so jerked off about something so trivial in my life. lol

I’ve helped guys on HT and vis versa using DMs or texts. I’m not going to give exact spots but I’ll give you a pretty good heads up except for sheep. I’ll give you Xs on sheep.

It’s probably more of how to ask than don’t ask.

Unit numbers should be in private to avoid google search hotspotting.

Oh I get it , I see the reason not to post units . I have gotten help in DM's , I was just pointing out the limitations of actual topics we have available .
I'm not upset , just giving my two cents , for what its worth .

^^ Absolutely amazing post there for this thread

I'm not going to quote it, but for the future folks reading this there was a crypto scammer who made his first post just before this:

There was a thread once that pointed out the reaction score to message ratio - a decent measure to determine the quality of your posts. I believe HTM had the highest ratio. Anything over 2 seemed solid.
