Happy Monday

In an effort to improve your time here on HT you will notice the like/dislike & emoji button is gone.

This will help optimize engagement using written posts and will reduce non-verbal confirmation biases.

Please enjoy your stay and have a great day!

interesting. i would bet my left nut this reduces engagement on forum.

You might be correct. If so, that’s an outcome I’ll have to live with.
Maybe I've missed it in the past but has there been any talk about going to a private, subscription/members only forum? I would be all for that personally. Thanks for keeping the forum going over the years.

"Like"

This will be better for new engagement on the forum.

Its important that people discuss ideas without the perception of dogpile. HT old hairs are collectively right about a lot - and at times i think the arguments, making the case, get cut short because of the likes.

Opinion from a member: I liked to use the like button to show appreciation to the poster for sharing their story and also to keep track of whether I had already seen a story. Also, I usually blow past other people's responses since they most often don't add much to the story.

I think you may have "fixed" a problem many of us never encountered by creating a new problem for some of us.

now we'll just have pages of "LOL", "like" and "i agree" and emoji posts to sort through

yeah, we're going back 15+ years to the old school forum ways of quoting someone and saying "+1"

or "^+1"
