I bet the ncaa would love that so they can get their cut.So run all NIL's through the NCAA (not the schools). Change it for this one reason.

Fine. Why should they not? They make it possible AND they need to have some leverage on their employees.I bet the ncaa would love that so they can get their cut.
They exist as a loophole to the NCAA prohibition on payments to athletes - so folks have to keep up the pretense to access the loophole. Three choices (i) leave as is; (ii) treat athletes the same as all other students and let them get whatever money they can without need for the pretense; or (iii) have a collective bargaining agreement with the athletes that would lay out the financial rules both can live with. Outside of these, the NCAA is just a big anti-trust machine (hence the court ruling that created the NIL loophole).Fine. Why should they not? I never said they shouldn’t get a cut. But don’t you think they make enough off them already through ticket sales, apparel sales, increased admissions, etc.Fine. Why should they not? They make it possible AND they need to have some leverage on their employees.
All taken care of in the collective bargaining agmt and the NFLPA agmt. Some is “combined league revenue” (like jerseys), some is “NFLPA revenue” (like video games) and some is player specific revenue (like Farmers Insurance), depends on the nature of the deal.do nfl teams get a cut off their players NIL deals?
And the average nfl salary is (according to a quick google search) $3.2 million/year which is skewed by the highest of the Salaries. $860k/year is the median of all nfl salaries. If we took the average of all nil deals across the ncaa would it be 3.2 million or even 860k per player? I highly doubt it. And, then to complicate matters we bring in title IX and a collective agreement is not possible. All taken care of in the collective bargaining agmt and the NFLPA agmt. I think that might be a little overkill, personally, but former player and sports journalist, Dan Zimmerman, advocated that if you cause injury like that, you should sit as long as the person you injured is out. Always found that hard to argue against. But then I also thought that people (Sean Payton) who reward deliberately injuring a player should be banned for life, but instead they get praise and adulation and probably Hall of Fame honors.Rest of season and loss of 50% of his salary
I listen to a lot of ESPN radio. The commentary from Chris Canty and how the unwritten code of the players works was eye opening. mtmuleyI think that might be a little overkill, personally, but former player and sports journalist, Dan Zimmerman, advocated that if you cause injury like that, you should sit as long as the person you injured is out. In most cases it is tough to confirm intent. Especially to lower body injuries. This guy was a repeat repeat repeat offender.I think that might be a little overkill, personally, but former player and sports journalist, Dan Zimmerman, advocated that if you cause injury like that, you should sit as long as the person you injured is out.
