That's pretty sad in my opinion. I think sportsmanship is a lost cause these days but it explains a lot of what we see in other things as well. America does love bullies.

As a huge hockey fan, I would totally disagree with that statement. There is an extremely high level of sportsmanship across the NHL and honestly at all levels of hockey while a large amount of trash talk, fighting and rivalry. Honestly, I think the two go somewhat hand in hand. There is a lot of respect earned on the rink that leads to both.

Got to meet him once, chatted about going to school in Terre Haute, he was a very cool laid back guy. Even when he coached the Pacers he could talk smack with the best of them….

I am impressed with Flacco to be able to come into Cinci on Monday or Tuesday and run an NFL offense efficiently and effectively by Sunday.
I’m a recovering Browns fan. Every Sunday during my childhood. Been to Cleveland stadium when the original dog pound existed and D batteries sailed through the air to bounce off Boomer Esiason’s helmet. Lost part of my soul when Elway performed The Drive. I gave up on the Browns when the NFL let Model move the team to Baltimore.
I’m still recovering. Refuse to talk to any family members about the dreaded team. I’m shaking a little after typing this. I’m going to have a drink now…. Try to forget the pain.

I agree on both counts.
Flacco might get my vote for most undervalued player.
Years ago, there was a really funny website that would post a hoax conversation between NFL quarterbacks giving each other shit. It was sidesplitting funny, at least to me, and one of the common threads was the "elite quarterbacks" talking about their individual greatness while making fun of Flacco, and the Flacco character repeatedly trying to claim that he deserved "elite" status. And then he won a Superbowl, and they still kept him out of the club.
I guess you had to be there, but I miss that weekly website. The author had an incredible sense of humor.

I think the complaining you were complaining about was more like observations as well. But to each his own. Still a great game and Flacco is doing great. How many teams would like him in their back-up arsenal right now?
