That’s a stud!!

Can’t wait to swing some streamers and use big stupid foam flies, although I’ve heard the mayflies have been doing it lately.

Biggest ones were on a little parachute adams and a little bead head pheasant tail under a chubby. Had a few ~12" on the chubby too.

80% of the time for cutties I am fishing a chubby with a dropper from May thru Oct. Or a chubby with a small adams 24" behind it in May and June.

I started tying flies when I was 9 years old. My uncle loved to fly fish for smallies in Adirondacks. So I caught the bug and about 60 years later picked it back up to tie salmon trolling flies for our salmon fishing on Lake Michigan. After many iterations have developed a really good process to tie flies for behind dodgers/flashers. Work incredibly well and has been a blast to net a king that is a giant 30lbs +. I will post up examples off my laptop shortly. I've tied down to 28 when younger but my Sasquatch size hands and age just laughs at that thought.

Example of squid fly in a smaller king. I provide flies to a Veterans Org that takes vets fishing on Lake Michigan which is so rewarding to see those smiles with kings. IMG_7930.jpeg
