When I first got here I was a nervous Nelly , now it’s nothing . Just got to watch what you step on .
We did have a Coral snake in our bass boat once , that was exciting!

It's been banned for most of my life. They had a brief season a few years ago but it was shut down quickly by the uninformed crowd.
Biologist estimate the population to be around 4500 and feel like a limited season is becoming an option .

There was a season 10 years ago and the quota was exceeded by the 2nd day.

The coral snakes have their fangs in the back of their mouth , they have to actually chew on you to inject the venom , or so I hear . The Water Moccasins are what you have watch for , and Rattlers .
I almost stepped om this guy my first year down here , I had to jump over him , huge pucker factor !

There's talk right now. The commission vote is in a week or so. The general public largely against it though.

I guess it will take peoples dogs, cats and other personal items being eaten to eventually, hopefully, change the general uninformed public that hunting is conservation and good.

Ya! Creepy bastards! I once stepped on a 3 foot prairie rattler stretched out sunning itself in the yard.
I jumped 6 feet in the air and air ran for what seemed forever! I probably own the world record in the long jump 
. Scared the snake as much as myself! I did not know that about coral snakes though!

We(The State of Florda) just had the first confirmed death of a person by a black bear attack approximately 2 weeks ago. But I agree public opinion is still standing in the way of a hunting season.

That’s just what I heard about the coral snakes, take it with a grain of salt. The one I posted a picture of came out of the mulch as I was down on my knees, spreading mulch in the flowerbeds .Lucky for me I had a shovel close by.Ya! Creepy bastards! We managed to successfully reinstate a bear season here in NJ. If we can do it, I’m sure Florida can too. Can’t think of any other state more anti-hunting than NJ except for maybe Cali. Comparatively, it should be a picnic to get it through in Fl.
