I'll be working in Anchorage next week and plan on taking a day to go fishing. Any recommendations on what to fish for or who to charter with?

Would like to catch a charter for salmon and halibut. Not sure what is biting in early to mid August.

Silvers will still be running down in Seward. Captain I always used retired so can't recommend any there. Crazy Ray's out of Whittier is pretty well known.

Alaska Surf Adventures in Seward is who I'd check with... Crazy Rays might have an opening, last I spoke to him he was booked solid, he produces some nice fish. Pretty spend though.

Silver fishing sucks balls this year all overy South Central. I've been out 4 times, have not seen a silver yet... very few showing in Seward, about non-existent in Valdez, Parks streams are dead... Fishing should be hot, but it's not...

Your best bet is in the salt, add rockfish and ling cod in... halibut is way over rated with the new regs. You'll waste half a day trying to kill a couple 15 ponders.

Good luck on your trip.

Thanks Bambi! I was hoping you'd see this. Thanks for the info guys!
