First trip of 2005

Took the new boat out for my first salt water trip of the year. Had a pretty good day. 11 blues, largest one is 25 inches and 5lbs, smallest one 16 inches and 2lbs.

I miss going out for blues. Used to love going for them. Nice day on the water for you. Thanks for the pics.

Forgive my ignorance since I'm a warm water land locked fisherman. What's a blue?

They are called Blues because of their color. They get up to about 20lbs. I have never caught one over 8lbs. They fight harder than bass, they will eat any fish that won't eat them. You spend a day catching Blues on medium tackle and your pretty well wore out. They have very sharp teeth, almost like a Pike or a Musky. Some people love the taste, they are too oily for me. I filet them and give them away.
