Yeah watching real close right now the area we elk hunt is closed off due to fire sure praying for some rain otherwise i will be learning new country but thats how we found this one we will find a new one if this fire doesnt let up. It sucks because the fire isnt where we hunt its just blocking us from getting there.
I'm breathing smoke from the Mustang Complex right now. Couldn't see the sun this evening. Ashes on my truck. Its quite an experience to be right there for something like this though I haven't been involved with any fire related things yet. Had to get back to North Fork before the fire came over the hill this afternoon. With the Salmon River Rd. closed there are rafters coming off the middle fork that can't leave the river and go home. No air support because of smoke. Can't fight the fire from the ground due to safety issues. Evacuations. Can't wait till tomorrow to hear what I missed. I'm already thinking about the mushrooms that will come up next June.

I had to cancel an Oregon hunt because 80% of the unit has burned since August 6th and its still growing... Very smokey in central Idaho right also.

Those C130s were really flying low over our place (up on the bench). I was running in and out of the house just to watch them and wife got a real kick out of it.
