Just moved to Idaho and will be hunting here on private land for the first time. Does anyone have any experience with feed plots here? Are they even allowed? I know baiting is prohibited unless it’s black bear but I could not find any information on feed plots. Thanks for any help!

Welcome to HT. I know of some guys who plant food plots. IDFG web page has an "Ask F&G" page, or you can call you regional office and ask to talk to enforcement. One important reason to call is that you are speaking to the office that would be enforcing your prospective food plot.

I did find this from 2014.

I sort of practice QDMA on my 40 acres. I find I'm just feeding 2 year old deer for my neighbors to shoot most of the time.

Is your private ground ag related?

It's not a Food plot...it is habitat improvement...Unless you dump a tote of "seed corn" on the ground and shoot a deer eating off the pile it is not baiting.

There are people who get paid by fish and game to do that...
