Farther/son hunt in Co. 2008

Well, my son has the itch as we all do and is begging me to go on a hunt. I am lining up some dates for a colorado mule deer/pronghorn hunt. Unless I am wrong, but does the 1st elk/deer combo season overlap with the muzzeloader pronghorn season? Does the youth tags cover either sex? I tried looking at the regs. but I am having a tough time.

And for the big question..... Is there any interest here in setting up a parent/child hunttalk gathering? I have yet to get a mule deer or a pronghorn but I think it would be a great time getting together with other hunttalker's. We have time to get this set up and a plan in place.

I think you'd have an easier time setting up a deer/pronghorn combo in WY.

Yes, the ML pronghorn season overlaps the 1st combined season.

Youth tags are for female animals only, and are not issued for ML seasons.

Be sure to check the draw odds for pronghorn in the units you're considering. Units with decent public access will generally take several preference points to draw, and you will likely have to pay an access fee for private property. Maybe that's what you have in mind, though.

Pronghorn units with decent public access are generally (not all) located in the northwestern portion of the state. The deer hunt in the eastern portion of the state, where you might be paying a tresspass fee, is a little later, so it overlaps the last part of the ML pronghorn season.

Hey I am game for WY. I looked at the prices online, for me a deer tag is $312+$14. Do I still need to buy a licence also or is that included. Do the youth tags allow the harvest of bucks? I am going to have to get some info on the plain non-res., landowner and special and the differences. I doubt I would make the trip blind, but if I could set it up to meet a few people out there with the same idea as a parent/child hunt, I would be all over it.
