Elk Bullet

Losing the front core is exactly how a Partition is supposed to work. The front expands like a conventional bullet, shedding bits of core that increase damage and quicken the kill. The rear drives through for penetration and an exit. Its kind of the best of both worlds.

I don't believe this is exactly accurate, at least not from Remington's publicly stated point of view.

He's talking about the Nosler Partition and not the Remington Cor-Lokt.

It is my understanding that, indeed, the Partition is designed to shed the led in front half. I know the few I've recovered did and they killed well.

PS- It only takes one 165gr .308" Partition to kill 3 pigs... :D

widener have 10% off on all releading bullet from hornady sierra, barnes (out of stock), and other manufacture after you pay 10% show up

I have been using Nosler Accubonds the last few years,165's in my 700 -06. Excellent ammo and bullet.
I don't reload and use factory ammo.
For years I used Barnes 165 TSX in Federals and got same performance .
The Accubonds open up similar to the Barnes, but flatten out a bit when they hit something solid, like a Partition does.

Yeah that happens...I was looking for accubonds for my 30-06 so I'll settle for ballistic tips and then substitute when they are in stock
What weight BT? If 165gr you're in the berries as those have a much thicker jacket than 'regular' BTs. Not much I wouldn't shoot in MT with those.

Second from right. Lot's of jacket in that model...

PS- I did poach the picture off the web.
