lives another day. Ran into 6 gobblers this morning, all on the wrong side of the fence. No amount of nasty talk from my homely hen decoy could convince them to cross the border.

If there within sight distance all you need is that nasty hen, a jake decoy and a turkey fan and its all but over... Pop a rock inside of the hen decoy, lay it on the ground, put a jake decoy over top of the hen... make a few series of purrs and soft clucks and then roll that fan out where the birds can see it... its an 80% chance those birds will come running right to the decoy...;) Maybe you've already tried that but it works most of the time, even on henned up birds...:D
 
Thanks for the tips Sneeks. My turkey hunting skills are no where near that high tec. My calling probably sounds more like the nagging shrew then the hot horny hen as well. I'll have to practice up for next year. Big fresh pile of bear poo has me thinking about trading off the shotgun for the rifle for the rest of the spring.
