Hey guys, leaving for New Mexico in a couple weeks and one of the guys I am going with asked if the altitude would affect arrow flight significantly. I’ve seen both answers online and wondered if there is any anecdotal experience from the group. We camp at 9400 feet and generally hunt within a thousand feet of that. I have a CDS turret for that elevation on my rifle but haven’t thought to much about archery tackle. Thanks in advance.

I think the bigger challenge will be shooting at extreme angles uphill or downhill.

I'd guess anything under 40 yards the difference will be nominal. Hope you guys hammer them, good luck!

The altitude will effect you much more than it will your arrow flight.
Don’t I know it. I stay in decent shape but 9000 feet of elevation difference kicks my tail for three or four days every year. On the flip side, I kill it back home after 8-10 days in the mountains.

never noticed any difference in arrow flight from 300 at home to 9000 ft up
but lots on my lungs lol
