The crazies exist. This guy is a special kind of evil. But also of concern are people who spread the rumor that the fire was started by the tech companies so they could buy land cheap and build more data centers.

I think arson is one of those mental things like pedophilia that you just cannot get out of their system. Only one solution for that.
Years ago there was a guy in my area that was arrested for setting several fires. He was on the local volunteer fire department. mtmuley
We had an Idaho kid who started several fires. He was on the local volunteer fire department and wanted to fight fires with his Dad. He spent some time in prison.
Investigating a series of arson fires in our parks, the county guy discovered it was set by a arson investigator. Traveling the state doing speaks for depts. he would set fires on trips.
Dozens of fires set.

I'm down wind of the Little Giant fire, we had a few hours of less smoke yesterday with some wind, but now it's snowing ash from the upper Entiat that torched up last night. Parked my truck about 5pm yesterday, woke up to this. Happy Apocalaugust!

Yeah don't know for certain but I imagine some houses burned yesterday, south shore of lake Chelan not looking good either. After touring Chelan Hills fire with the flood assessment team and hearing stories from locals of it burning McNeil canyon bottom to top in 15 minutes and seeing the hundreds of destroyed homes, cars, conex containers completely melted, and the roadside memorial made of melted metal from the truck that crashed and burned over, feeling pretty sketchy about the long months still to come here. Best wishes to all with exposure this summer, stay safe, and sane.

That definitely makes it look further east than it is. A coworker has a cabin in the middle of that SE hot area and per his ring cameras the fire is just getting to his place in the last 30 minutes or so

I can't imagine breathing intense smoke AND fighting fires. 6 hours outside this morning was enough for me.

After about the first couple weeks of sucking smoke fighting fire, you dont even notice it anymore.
I dont think that's a good thing.
I only puked once because of smoke on a fire. Actually it was on a prescribed fire burning an old cutting unit that had tons of evergreen ceanothus. Trying to catch a slop over above the road...just bad yellow/green smoke.
Has to be horrible for a person.
