Not that ice fishing isn't fun, but I'm already filtering through gear and wishing the lakes would start to thaw out already. Got hooked on this last spring and can't wait to do it again!:D

I think I can smell those buggers from here. That is a ton of fun. I have seen guys shooting them in the shallows in the winter as well, if you can find open waters. A little slower than in the spring, but still pretty fun.

You put them in your boat!!??!!
Haha Ya that was the very first time and the VERY LAST time. Took 5 bucks in quarters at the carwash and it still stank for about a month afterwards. Rookie Mistake.

My son is big into that. They have a League they are on, 500 pounds a night is an average, they stole my Rubbermaid Horse trough to put them in. They are rigged out in an Airboat that one of the fathers got for them to use or they use Travo's boat that I traded a 4 wheeler for.
One of them got a Commercial Fishing License so they could sell the Buffalo to recoup some gas money. Last year he had a gator under his boat, said the Head was on one side and the tail on the other so they figured it went 10-11 foot. Good Luck! John

If I can get a boat (fishing pontoon for the family) bought in time, I'm really wanting to give that a try this year. Looks like a blast!

Looks like sport to me. Certainly something to think about in the middle of the winter.

1pt, anytime you want to go. . we can wade Sugar Creek and shoot till your fingers bleed! lol

Thanks! We'll do it! I spent a bit of time on Sugar Creek in college. Might give me some ideas on trying to do the same on the waterways near here.

Now, I just have to decide which bow to set up. I have a older, round wheel compound that shoots well and draws smooth/easy. I also have a old Bear recurve. Maybe I'll just have to let them take turns...
