I took advantage of a BHA link to express opposition to loosening of travel restrictions on fed lands we all own. I had this response withing 5 min.

Thank you for sharing your views regarding public lands and wildlife conservation in the United States.

Our Nation is blessed with an extraordinary range of spectacular and diverse natural landscapes—and my Administration is steadfastly committed to cherishing and protecting America’s natural splendor. In my first term, we signed the historic Great American Outdoors Act, recovered more endangered and threatened species than any other first term President, and opened millions of acres for hunting and fishing.

After returning to office, I signed an Executive Order establishing the Make America Beautiful Again Commission to build on that success by promoting more voluntary stewardship, enhancing and expanding outdoor access, cutting misguided regulations, recovering even more species, and growing the economy. My Administration is working hard to reverse the failed environmental policies of the previous administration to make sure Americans can enjoy the best clean air, the best clean water, and the best lands in the world.

My Administration is investing in real results that promote both a strong economy and healthy environment by delivering world-class conservation projects and critical infrastructure while reducing the maintenance backlog on public lands. We remain devoted to conserving America’s natural treasures and expanding outdoor recreation, and we will fight to ensure our lands and waters remain beautiful for our children and grandchildren.

Thank you again for writing. May God bless you, and may He continue to bless the United States of America.

Sincerely,

On one hand, we have recent examples of public comments and ire making a difference (big beautiful bill land sale).

On the other, I feel like 90% of the comments I’ve ever submitted have been a waste of time. And functionally if I were a politician, I wouldn’t really pay much attention to them either. The cost of submitting them is so low, they can be automated, they aren’t read, and in a very real and rational way on behalf of the Devil’s Advocate - what are 1000 comments that may be neither sound nor valid, versus a conversation with a person you trust that makes sense?

I wish they would put them letters in order so you could find them quicker. What if they scrambled up all the numbers too?
I actually thought he was talking about the machine used by locksmiths. Had to step back a second to realize he was talking about peck and type.
