It's short notice but here is a link and some information about a public lands caucus that is specifically looking to address some topics that are near and dear to our hearts so I wanted to share in case others could join.

Here are some details: 9/23 at noon (Mountain time)

Register here.

Uniting the West: A Public Lands Dialogue

Public lands in the American West are central to our culture, economy, and identity - but they’re increasingly impacted by development pressures, changing weather patterns, and deferred maintenance and investment. In response to these growing challenges, Representatives Gabe Vasquez (D-NM-02), Ryan Zinke (R-MT-01) and Juan Ciscomani (R-AZ-06), among others, have formed the Bipartisan Public Lands Caucus, a new initiative focused on conserving America’s public lands and expanding access for all Americans.

This program offers participants a unique opportunity to hear directly from the co-chairs and a member of this newly established caucus. Reps. Vasquez and Zinke will share what led them to form the Caucus, and all Congressmen will share how they plan to advance pragmatic, consensus-driven policies that ensure public access, support local economies, and conserve cultural and natural heritage. Members of HECHO’s Hispanic Conservation Leadership Council (HCLC), New Mexico Wildlife Federation, Arizona Wildlife Federation, Theodore Roosevelt Conservation Partnerships, and Backcountry Hunters and Anglers have had an advanced invitation to this focused conversation.

This initiative builds on the trusted working relationship between the lawmakers and a growing momentum among a new generation of Western leaders who see public lands as a unifying issue, not a partisan one. With a focus on bridging local conservation efforts and federal leadership, this session offers an exciting opportunity for grassroots and grasstops advocates to help shape the future of our public lands. The session will include preselected questions from registrants and moderator on the Congressmen’s approach to public lands policy and the newly formed caucus.

What You’ll Leave With:

  • A clear understanding of what the new Public Lands Caucus is, why it was created, and what it aims to achieve.
  • Insights into how bipartisan efforts on public lands are taking shape in Congress – and what this means for communities across the West.
  • Opportunities to connect your local conservation and advocacy work to a broader federal strategy.
  • Direct access to policymakers working to protect access, preserve cultural values, and ensure future generations can enjoy the unique benefits of our public lands.
