There was a horse slaughterhouse scheduled to open in NM. The AG won a temporary injunction against the owner to keep it from opening.
My understanding is Obama will not include funding in the new budget for inspections so even if the injunction is lifted the plant cannot open since there is no money for inspectors. I assume that will be the case for any horse slaughterhouse in the US. I guess the alternative is to ship them to Mexico.
