Total Knee Arthroplasty Dec 9. Stryker Athlon cementless, they say facilitates faster recovery...and GPS implant alignment accuracy, so don't any of you honeyhole swipers be jamming my signal. Carrel Clinic Dallas is very good with hinges.
Had the right one done 9 years ago IIRC...past due doing the left one, x ray looks like an engineer's nightmare.

Just turned 5 months post Stryker Triathlon TKR on the left hinge. See if it holds up chasing elk in 2 weeks…last year not-so-much

I imagine he means synvisc or something similar. It's an injection that mocks the synovial fluid in joints and gives relief from arthritis. I used them for 5 or 6 years with quite a bit of success until I had to have my knees replaced. It's a stop gap between painful knees and knee replacement

I would start each morning with a light resistance stationary bike and once you feel a little bit loosened up, pain full squats within a pain free range. Message me
Just got a partial knee replacement done yesterday. The procedure is known as MAKO robotic arthroplasty using Stryker Triathlon stainless/titanium parts.
Here's a vid giving a good overview:
So far, so good no problems aside from having to chunk pain pills. 3-5 weeks is the best case for recovery (defined as being to move about without aids). Robotics being used now make it possible to have fewer problems down the road.
I did the shots (joint juice) for a couple years. Cortisone, then hyaluronic acid. Had to pull the trigger though when the shots no longer killed the pain.
Am starting PT today.

Congrats and good for you. Follow directions and bust ass. My replacement is pain free and solid as a rock. I use it hard; hunting, hiking, mountain biking and more. I don’t even think about it anymore.
Thanks….my intention is to do just as you described. The goal is to get a missing part of my life back. Sounds like you’ve done it in your case, that’s great!
I'd be real interested to hear actual recovery times of those who had partial knee replacements in the past. My research indicates recovery from a PKR is defined by stages. Stage 1 recovery would be walking without assistance at 2-3 weeks. Stage two would be moving about with full range of motion (90-120 degrees of knee flex). Stage 3 would be full recovery somewhere in the range of 6 - 12 months. I've read others have been able to take up sports and lift heavy again at this point (even running again in some cases). I'm on the way to stage 1 recovery, doing PT 6-7 times a week with 90+ degrees of knee flex. Confidence is building that I'll reach stage 3 in the 6-12 month range. Perhaps upland hunting will be possible with my new hunt buddy by October?
Never heard of it, to be honest—and that’s saying something, because I usually read a lot about different illnesses and medications on Canada Pharmacy Partner. It’s kind of become a small hobby of mine. I enjoy learning about health conditions, treatment options, and how different supplements or meds work. It’s actually pretty fascinating once you get into it.

Vitamins help get me up to par in the mornings, but vitamin C (about 2 of those 1000 mg tablets) sure help me recover a lot faster. Knee ointment. Sometimes camphor and vicks I use or aspercreme at night. I also had the doc tell me most of my problem is the shoes I wear and they don't have proper arches, which I got some decent shoes and boots, but it takes time he says to get back to at least getting around for longer hiking trips. Been short trips mostly scouting around, lots of taking it easy. Then before I do hunt each year I take it really easy the day before and rest those legs as much as I can. By the next day I am good for a few hard miles and then if nothing is down, I go home for the day or hang out with the radio and see if everyone makes it back ok. Now, I am going to try comfrey as well, talked to a guy who swears by it with his foot he broke years back that bothered him. Mix it with aspercreme and put it on, put a wrap over it for the night. A week or so off and on so you skin can breathe, better results. Worth a try.
