Hey Guys.... We were hacked Again.

|oo.....|oo.....|oo.....|oo.....|oo.....|oo

DelW has worked 2 days to get us back online. SORRY for the down time, I don't know why it keeps happening but it should be OK for now.

We had to go back to a saved backup on Feb 29th. Some recent posts since then have been lost. Other then that nothing has changed. Sorry about that. IT guys are trying to restore some of the files.

Our host did all the restoring, the back up files somehow were corrupted, so we had to go with a back up from the 29th.

The board Maybe be on or off for a few mins here and there as I upgrade the site.

Sorry for the problems

Maybe you guys can't disclose what's going on, but what exactly are these guys doing? And, if it's a result of the software you're running, I was just curious if there are problems upgrading? Sorry to see this happen...you'd think people would have better things to do. Probably some bastards from PETA or ELF... :BLEEP:

Ovis.. LOL, DelW is paid !! :D

Elk Hunter, there are Hackers that target V-bulletin's. Unfortunately there are loopholes in the program that lets them in. I have talked to Del to go to the Basic modle to reduce or eliminate the access of the hackers. we're doing whatever ittakes. I'm not sure who did it exactly but there are several sites with Irabic text claiming to be hackers looknig to mess up sites. The program software people are aware... MAybe it's Peta in cognito ?!?!!

If this keeps happening I'm scrating this program and goingto a different type board.... I'm mostly pissed becasue We lost Schmalt's BALL's thread. that was slated to be the BEST post of ALL TIME !!!!!! |oo|oo|oo

Did you ever think the reason we were hacked was because the two top threads were about Schmalts gun that don't shoot and Schmalts sore bag ?
I'm telling ya, if Schmalts ever has a colonoscopy, Hunt Talk will become the #1 busiest site on the entire web.

A-con is infactualted with my balls and butthole, go figure:rolleyes:

Elkhunter.
GOOGLE is the main reason sites are getting hacked more and more. a hacker can put a string in a google search engine and find every site that has that string, then he starts hacking away.

Software companies upgrade there software when they find loopholes. usually the loopholes are created when you add a hack ( modified program) into a existing one.

This one time I am not sure how they got in , however I have an idea.

HAHA Don't worry those threads were so funny I am going to see if they could be dug back up. I havent laughed that hard in a long time. and 280 just beat you down big time.

Shut up Delw, don't you have some cyber terrorists to hunt down of something?

Moosie, what are the odds that HuntTalk goes down the same day the Statesmen runs this article? :D

Report ranks Boise high in vulnerability to terrorism
Edition Date: 03/07/08

BOISE, Idaho — The amount of risk Boise faces from such extreme events such as wildfires or the failure of an upstream dam makes it rank among the most vulnerable in the U.S. to terrorism attacks, a University of Arizona researcher says.

"If the terrorists were smart enough to say, 'I'm going to take out the dam in Boise,' you guys would be in trouble," mathematics professor Walter W. Piegorsch told the Idaho Statesman.

The recently released 15-page report is titled "Benchmark Analysis for Quantifying Urban Vulnerability to Terrorist Incidents," and was partially paid for by the Department of Homeland Security.

Researchers determined the relative risk urban areas face by using a complex formula that comes up with a "place-based vulnerability index," or PVI, score.

Piegorsch said the report was based on statistical methodology previously used in cancer research. The report doesn't rank cities, but comparing numerical PVI scores puts Boise at No. 10, he said.

Factors in the equation include the natural environment a city is located in, the severity of damage that might result from an attack, and the demographics of the population that hint at how residents might be able to respond or escape from an attack.

Researchers converted those factors into numbers and plugged them into the formula. They said they were surprised to see Boise end up at No. 10, and that they triple-checked the numbers.

Other than Houston, Boise is the only city in the West that appears on the map as red for high risk.

"As we look at the data, we realize that you seem like an exception," Piegorsch told the newspaper.

Local officials said they are taking the report seriously.

"We're all in the process of analyzing this report to fully understand what it says," said Lt. Col. Tim Marsano, a spokesman for the Idaho Bureau of Homeland Security. "We don't feel like it would be totally appropriate to say one way or another that the report is accurate or inaccurate."

Lynn Hightower, spokeswoman for the Boise Police Department, said it is working with the FBI to contact Piegorsch and others who compiled the report to discuss the findings.

Lucky Peak Dam is upstream of Boise. Piegorsch said past floods and wildfires in the area pushed Boise into the top 10.

Piegorsch said the report doesn't try to predict where terrorists might attack.

"It's not probability of being a target," he said. "It's vulnerability."

The city that had the highest vulnerability score in the report was New Orleans.
