Dandelion Neighbors

What's most aggravating is that dandelion is this easiest weed there is to control with any 2,4-d product. In KY, the biggest problem weed your neighbors give you is bermudagrass:mad:

I was driving through my suburban neighborhood yesterday and I watch a Canada goose eating dandelion heads. Bit them right off without a seed getting away. Not sure if you can get them at Home Depot, but a dozen geese should clear up your dandelion problem in 30-40 years. And you can sit on the couch the whole time.

And you could take one or two out per year to put in the freezer.

I’d rather have a yard full of dandelions than a yard full of goose poop

I hate taking care of a yard. I planted almost my entire property in native wildflowers. I get a satisfaction walking through them that I wouldn’t get walking across the nicest lawn. A badger moved in last year and makes a nice neighbor. Mowing my actual lawn takes about 10-15 minutes per week.

hmph, takes me 4 hours on the rider

Living in the country helps. Can't do anything about the dandelion army but cut them down. Letting them get fairly tall and then cutting everything short makes the yard green for a while. I have some stragglers coming back that seeded out but in the long run it doesn't matter. Yard looks decent after I mow and most people are driving past at 50 to 60 so they don't get a very good look! 🤣
