The permits in question along with other projects in the planning and proposal phases have the potential to make a huge impact to conservation and public land.

I also can’t support the current overriding desire of f the Republicans to sell out public lands amongst other things. I don’t believe a party and I need to align, but that one is a hill to die on for me.

They may have been republicans for their whole life, but the primaries this last week should cement that if you think Trump is a POS you aren't a republican. The conversation was more complex than that. The whole things is not about public land, it’s about O&G over renewables. DOI froze permits on renewable projects already approved and started, including off shore wind farms. Some of the permits were needed for projects occurring on private land. A judge had ruled the DOI couldn’t do what it did. Of course they didn’t change. I assure you, this is all about optics and has nothing to do with conservation.

This is the most accurate statement I have read in a week. Just think if you had to interview and hire trump for a key role in any company, and you knew his background, bankruptcies, cheating, etc., or had to sit through his "answers". I don't think there is a business owner with half a brain who would see this guy and think "winner" for any role, anywhere.

Yet, he is leading the country and world off a gold plated cliff, and there are waaaay too many people who still think he is the greatest thing since sliced bread and treat him like their supreme leader. We are first class f**ked today, and we still have two years of this geezer. All politicians bend the truth, lie through their teeth and look out for themselves, some to a greater degree than others. That is a given. What boggles my mind is that the true Maga base would never think of questioning, disagreeing or outright condemning him. I think this is what frustrates me most about our elected representatives and how americans increasingly perceive politics only through a tribal lense.

Folks like fetterman, tester, paul, massie, or even zinke are an unfortunate dying breed - and in my view id vote for those kinds of people explicitly because they would fight their own parties valiantly.

I dont always agree with any of them on what they stand against - but i cant stomach someone that doesnt have the conviction to take a position for their constituents simply because their "leader" said no.
