My most exciting hunt in many years. I was standing on the rock in the forground and here is my arrow after it exited. The arrow traveled less than 20' from my string to the place it stuck in the ground.
Have seen the footage and it is 15 minutes of the most excruciating wait a hunter can experience. Some elk just want to die and he was one of them.
By the end of the month, we are going to load a sizzle clip on the site that has this kill scene in it. Most who have seen it claim we will be accused of shooting drugged elk in a game farm.
2010 was a great year.

It prompted me to put together a book of photos on Shutterfly to commemorate it. My Dad and I try to hunt together every year.
We started off missing the opening weekend of our local deer season, so I could chase Tule Elk with a bow. Yeah, I had one of 5 draw tags for a pretty good area. Not a monster but a memorable DIY hunt.
The next weekend I helped my Dad drag out his Blacktail buck he killed in a narrow, steep canyon.
It was my oldest daughter's' first year of hunting and she shot a wild pig and a blacktail buck this year on back to back weekends.
Then we left for Wyoming for an early October hunt. The weather made it tough but after 90 miles on horseback and on foot over 5 days I shot a raghorn bull.
We went 3 for 4 out of my family group. My Brother in law killed the biggest this year.
So the Freezer is full, and I had to promise to take the kids to Disneyland to make up for my Wanderin'....
I think it is worth it though...

This was a great year, close to as many days logged hunting as prior to my MT exodus. Spent a lot of days in a tent this year, not nearly as many killing fish as I'd planned, but still managed to put 100lbs in the freezer.

Not much hunting this year. Got a few birds at the beginning of the year and have been busy with the move and new job.
Ike what part of Folsom are you in? I just moved from there in July and hunted in the Ice House area for years.

A Few pictures of my Idaho Big Game!
Filled two out of three tags; unfortunately was not able to elk hunt; but there is always next season. Unfortunately I was saving my third tag for the big whitetail but did not see him until the day I was leaving to move across the state. I guess it was kind of a send off!
