Compounds- How old is too old?

2011 Mathews Z7 extreme is still my main bow. 330 ibo nearly 7.5 inch brace. Easy to shoot and carry.
2006 Ross cr34 my bread and butter elk killer is my back up. So smooth, nearly 8 inch brace. Just plain works. Speed is overrated.
New stuff with 5 and 6 inch brace doesn't excite me for a few extra pounds of speed.
if the archery industry started making bows with a large brace again, with 330 plus speed, instead of going short, I might get interested in something new, but the industry has been static for awhile. But the marketing is pretty awesome to convense you need to buy a new one every year.

I have 3 Mathews Switchback XT's that were made from 2006 - 2008. I shoot and hunt with all three of them, which are rigged out identically except for different sight set ups. I have actually tried newer bows, but these old icons just work better for me and have never let me down or caused me to want for more.

Great bows. On of the best ones made.

Been shooting a 2014 Mathews Chill SDX since 2017. Still shoots great.

Before that I was shooting a 2013 Mathews ZXT. Should have never let that one go. I could shoot the lights out with that thing. I still think about that bow.

I have a backup bow (Jennings) that is circa 1999 and still fling it every year before the season starts. I DO, however, give it a pretty good check over every year looking for cracks and problems.
Sweet shooting bow, arrows just take their time to get there lol

I still have and shoot a 1992 Golden Eagle Hawk Carbine.

My wife has and shoots an old Bear compound. Circa 1980s.
I think it's set up for 35lb pull and has I believe a 50% let off.

my dad still shoots a PSE mach from the 90's. That bow has probably killed 75 plus WT over the 30 years of its lifetime with him and its still deadly killing a doe and a buck this year. It has hardly any leftoff yet still kills them dead.

Jennings carbon extreme? I use mine for bow fishing now. Pretty awesome carp whacker.

Nope the ol’ Buckmaster 2000 lol.
I’ve changed out my primary bows a few times (Bear>Hoyt>PSE) but have just kept the old split limb around since it was the first I killed an elk with 🤷‍♂️

To answer the question "how old is too old"...anything with round wheels and an axle to axle over 45 inches LOL!
