Chris Ledoux Dies

Ain't it funny how an ole song can take you back in time,
Bring back the memories you thought you left behind.
The melodies they never change...just get better with time

THANK YOU CHRIS FOR ALL THE MELODIES AND MEMORIES. These are a few of my favorites.....feel free to share yours:

I don't know where all the rivers run
I don't know how far, I don't know how come
But I'm gonna die believin, with each step that I take
Ain't worth the ground that I walk if we don't walk it our own way

I don't claim to be a wise man, a poet, or a Saint
Just another man who's searchin' for a better way
But my heart beats loud as thunder, for the things that I believe
Sometimes I want to run for cover, sometimes I want to scream

Bang a drum for the tomorrow, bang a drum for the past
Bang a drum for heroes, who won't come back
Bang a drum for the promise, bang a drum for the lies
Bang a drum for the lovers, and the tears they cry
Bang a drum bang it loudly, or as soft as you need
-------------------------------------------------------------------------

But he's still out there ridin' fences
Still makes his livin' with his rope
As long as there's a sunset he'll keep ridin' for the brand
You just can't see him from the road

We have lost a true cowboy, patriot, and all around hell of a good man. Chris was once quoted as saying, ""What I want to be known for, on top of everything else, is that I was a good husband and family man." I think that sums up the kind of person Chris Ledoux was. I had the privelage of meeting him on various occassions. ONce was when I was 17. My friends and I met him backstage. We were the last one's threw. I had him sign my hat and when he found out that me and my buddies did rodeo, he had us sit down and have a piece of pie with him. We sat there and B.S.'d about rodeo for almost an hour. He was a genuinely nice guy. I dont know a lot of "country stars" that would've taken the time to sit down with a couple of greenhorns and just shoot the shit.

Lets all thank the Cowboy for the ride!!
GOD SPEED BROTHER!!

Indeed a bummer...seemed like a pretty standup guy. Saw him in concert one time and even happened (by chance) to share a deer/elk camp with one of his cousins years back in Heron, MT. The guy (believe his name was Chase) said that the fame never effected his relationship with his friends and family and that he still cowboyed despite the $$$.

When you ride your last one,
Make sure it's your best one.
Jump off while he's moving,
tip your hat, boy...
and walk away.

That is really bad news. He was one of my favorite artists and people. A self-made success story over long odds.

One of the rare down to earth celebrities. His music was enjoyed by many non country fans. Will be missed.

I am dumbfounded.....I saw the title of this topic and I thought no this is impossible......I've seen him in concert a couple of times and remember him riding broncs when I was a kid.....his son was drumming for him when i last saw his concert....wonder if he'll follow in the old man's footsteps ??

"This Cowboy's hat" and "Copenhagen" were just a couple of many favorites.....
