Trying to net these things is a pain. Mrs. Fin took her time and got this old hen close enough for the net.




These pike are a serious disruption to walleye fishing. The number of 20-25" pike has reached the point of annoying.

We put most of them back where they'll probably end up as food for the pike. A couple did make it to the dinner table.

Pike are a tasty treat though. The wife got into one last weekend that I believe was a pike. Never got it to the boat before it broke the line but, managed to take 2/3 of the line off her reel in the process. We'll be back at Canyon Ferry this weekend, hitting it again.

Those Northerns are good eating Big Fin, once you get the hang of removing the Y bones it becomes quite easy. We spear them from our darkhouse in the winter here in North Dakota. Good eats
