Totally understand. I've never used them but read about a hunt where they pretty much saved the day. I know this is the place to get real info. mtmuley Plus, I'm getting old.Truly not one of the better items out there to go full frugal on IMO. Serious mountain hunting is a pole snapping game.
But there might actually be good cheaper options out there, I don’t know. My black diamonds though are going strong with over a decade of serious alpine, backpacking, and hunting use.
Looking into the Black Diamonds. Thanks guys. mtmuley
It was pretty eye opening when I borrowed some packing out in some steep stuff. I will need them in the area South of Malta. mtmuleyThat’s what I have had for the last 15 or so years. Have packed a lot of critters with them. Just make sure whatever brand you get to get the snap lock and not the twist lock

I've also used these from Costco. They haven't gotten a ton of use. Helped with pack out on 2 elk and a several deer. No issues so farCostco Mountain Cascade work for me. They're probably heavy but significantly cheaper than the lightweight stuff
