Bud Moore was a well known Montanan. He was a forester, conservationist, trapper/hunter and all around historian, especially of the Bitterroot Mountains and the Lochsa area. He was friends with well-known Montanans like Norman Maclean, and wrote a heck of a book I've read half a dozen times called, "The Lochsa Story". I recommend it. Especially for those interested in hunting, trapping and land ethics.
The Montana Memory Project has made available his collection of photographs. Over 4,500 of them! He was a big hunter and trapper and though I haven't looked at all the pictures they are a treasure trove of old-time hunting and fishing photos. Worth checking out.

Some example photos:
A couple Mule Deer

A successful trapper

And there are literally thousands more.
