Brisk Weekend Ride

Jumped on the bike Friday afternoon & headed for the Texas hill country. Temps in the 40's

German food at the Altdorf in Fredericksburg.

Saturday afternoon in Lukenbach.

Sat night lucked on to a nice little B&B with a couple cabins available.

Home today before noon. 600 miles....good ride, prolly last one til spring.

I keep thinking about buying a bike, but I'm afraid it would just collect spider webs sitting in the garage. At the same time, it just might be my 'next' mid-life crisis.

I'm sure I'm past the mathematical point of my mid-life, but some of these mid-life crises are just too good to pass up.

I bought a new H-D Low Rider in 1986, sold it in 1997 for something like $1,500 more than I paid for it. Had lots of fun riding it but was feeling my mortality. So I sold it before I got crippled up in a wreck. Instead, I had knee, hip and back surgeries that crippled me up anyway.

No John, just leathers. layers, good gloves, and a full face helmet. .

Whitetail season begins next Saturday & goes thru 1st Sunday in Jan Zach, add a 3rd rifle Colorado mule deer hunt & not much time even when weather cooperates..spring riding around here usually begins mid to late March for me.

Rode to work today, was brisk at 6am, but by 4:30 in the afternoon it was very pleasant.
