I am headed to the badlands then to yellowstone going through the bighorn mts hoping to find my disabled mom some sheep to see from the van. Any help or suggestions would be awesome.

I haven't been to Yellowstone is several years. When I went to Yellowstone I saw sheep close to the north
entrance/exit (the exit to Gardiner Montana) and these were seen from the road.
No help on the rest of your route.

We saw them in the badlands when we went through there. I just had a friend come back from going through Yellowstone and he saw them in the park, but I'm not sure where.

When I see them the most it's either from the road that goes from Gardiner to mammoth and in the Lamar Valley between the ranger station and soda butte. Up high.

If you go through the east entrance you should see them by Buffalo Bill reservoir usually by climbing around on the dam..weather dependent

I just saw some in the Badlands south of Wall S.D. a week ago, along with plenty of Bison. That Badlands loop is a great drive. Saw some Mt. Goats near Mt. Rushmore a few years ago. Right in the ditch next to the road.
